What we do?

  • Workshops.

We enlist practicing artists to share their expertise. From sketching to collage to silkscreen, we aim to bring new medium and experiences to aspiring artists in our community.

  • Exhibitions.

We curate and jury original exhibitions at local venues, including the Tolles Parsons Center and Wellesley Free Library. Calls for Art enlist artists from Wellesley and neighboring communities.

  • Studio visits.

We coordinate excursions, bringing art appreciators to connect directly with practicing artists and gallery directors. These excursions and personal exchanages enrich the lives of residents.

  • Artist talks.

We invite a wide variety of painters and makers to share their artistic journey and demonstrate their process. We encourage a dialogue between artists and the audience.

  • Community art.

We plan and host an annual community art project called Art in the Park. This tradition has deep roots with our team and predates Art Wellesley.

  • Arts leadership.

We sit on the Public Art Committee to jury and promote traffic box submissions, and promote the interests of the arts with Town leadership as opportunities arise.
