Julie earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Northern Illinois University and a Master of Fine Arts in Painting from the University of Texas at Austin.

Julie taught Painting and Design at UT Austin before moving to Chicago, where she worked in the fashion industry, and later, as an account executive at the advertising firm Ogilvy & Mather. Since moving to the Boston area, she has focused on community art organizing, local volunteer projects, and her artwork. She currently heads up operations at Fusion Academy Newton.
